15-Year-Old is 1st Child in the UK to Receive Heart From Deceased Donor
15-year-old Anna Hadley made history in 2020 by being the 1st pediatric patient in the UK to receive a heart transplant from an already deceased donor. Organ donations after circulatory death have been performed on adult patients, and now British surgeons have used the technique to save the lives of 6 children.
