900-Ton Telescope Destroyed After Crashing at Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico
Stunning drone footage captures the moment one of the world’s largest telescopes collapses to the ground. The 900-ton telescope came crashing down at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, just seconds after the supporting cables snapped. The high tech telescope has appeared in a number of movies, most famously in the climax of the James Bond film “Goldeneye.” And a high school football player in Texas tackled a referee after the ref had ejected him from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct.
