Massive German WWII ‘Hermann Bomb’ Detonated in English City of Exeter
A massive bomb dating to World War II was exploded in the English city of Exeter. The one-ton munition was discovered the day before by builders. Bomb disposal teams detonated the device. The blast was heard five miles away, and threw debris nearly 1,000 feet. It damaged buildings nearby and the crater it left was described as being the size of a double decker bus. The one-ton bomb had been dropped on the city during German air raids 80 years ago.
