Woman Arrested at Middle School Football Game For Not Wearing a Mask

A woman was arrested at a middle school football game in Logan, Ohio, on September 23 after refusing to comply with mask-wearing mandates. Footage of the incident shows the woman, believed to be a parent of a Marietta City Schools player, after a local police officer approached her. She is shown being handcuffed, Tasered, and led away from the school facility. She was charged with criminal trespassing, local media reported. Tiffany Kennedy captured footage of the event before posting it on Facebook. In a statement to local media, the superintendent for the Logan-Hocking Local School District confirmed that the arresting officer in the footage is the Logan school’s resource officer. Speaking to a local media outlet, Logan Athletic Director Theresa Schultheiss said, “Everyone that came through ticketing tonight was reminded, we had regular announcements over the PA reminding you that mouths and noses needed to be covered and we had signs at the bathrooms.” She added, "Our other options are no fans — which is not what we want to do. The other option is to stop the game and then we send kids home. I don’t want to hurt these kids. We’re here to respect the players and let the kids play.” Credit: Tiffany Kennedy via Storyful
