Jupiter's fiery moon may not have an underground magma ocean

Io is the most volcanically active object in our solar system, but it may not have an underground magma ocean as previously thought. A University of Cologne-led study looked at past data from NASA's Galileo’s spacecraft and found a potentially new explanation for Io's magnetic field variations.
