Millions of cicadas set to emerge again in Southern US after 17 years

A new brood of cicadas, a jumping bug in the family Auchenorrhyncha, are set to emerge in some Southern states after almost 17 years underground. Entomologists predict that at least 1.5 million cicadas per acre could flock to parts of Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. This can cause a substantial sound issue in places with large densities. Music Credit: 'Hip Hop Timberbeat' by Bobby Cole
