Congress Avoids Shutdown

on Thursday, Congress passed a stopgap spending bill to prevent a government shutdown this weekend. It will also buy time for talks on ranging topics of unfinished business. The bill would keep the government running through Dec. 22. It will now be sent to Donald Trump. The votes came as Trump and top congressional leaders in both parties met to discuss a variety of topics.
