Congressman Trent Franks Resigning Following Complaints

on Thursday, U.S. Representative Trent Franks said he will resign following complaints from two former staff members over talks he had with them about attempts to find a surrogate mother. Franks is an Arizona Republican who has served in Congress since 2003. He said he recently learned the House Ethics Committee had opened an investigation for of the complaints. In a statement, franks said, “I deeply regret that my discussion of this option and process in the workplace caused distress.”
