GOP Congressman Goes After Self-Named 'Dumbledore's Army'

On Thursday, Republican Rep. Dennis Ross went after the group of employees who have called themselves "Dumbledore's Army" in an attempt to resist a Donald Trump-appointed acting director at the Financial Protection Bureau. In a letter to Mick Mulvaney, the acting director of the top consumer watchdog agency, Ross called the assembly "a group of government employees engaging in fantasy play on the public dime." The letter had multiple references to the "Harry Potter" children's book series, where "Dumbledore's Army" originated. Ross even put a Hogwarts watermark on the letter.
