U.S., Israel Quit U.N. Heritage Agency Citing Bias

On Thursday, the United States and Israel announced that they were quitting the U.N.’s cultural agency UNESCO, after Washington accused it of anti-Israeli bias. A state department spokeswoman said that the decision “reflects U.S. concerns with mounting arrears at UNESCO, the need for fundamental reform in the organization, and continuing anti-Israel bias.
