Atlanta Police Tase Students Driving Home from George Floyd Protest

Two Atlanta police officers were fired after tasing college students driving home from a protest for George Floyd (warning: distressing). In US news and current events today, people in at least 30 cities across the U.S. participated in protests calling for justice for George Floyd. Atlanta police tased college students heading home from the George Floyd protests, and two of the officers involved were fired the next day. 20-year-old Taniyah Pilgrim and her friend Messiah Young said they were driving home from protests in Atlanta, Georgia, on the night of May 30. Police officers approached the car, broke windows, pulled the students out, and tased Young. One of the officers involved said he used his Taser because he thought the students might be armed.
