Charles McGee, Tuskegee Airman Who Helped Defeat Nazis, Dies at 102

Charles McGee, a Tuskegee Airman who flew more than 400 fighter missions across three wars, has died. He was 102. McGee was a decorated Air Force Veteran who was honored by several presidents, including Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. “We dreamed of being pilots as boys but were told it was not possible. Through faith and determination we overcame enormous obstacles. This is a lesson that all young people need to hear,” McGee told Smithsonian Magazine.
