Pennsylvania Woman Who Tried to Rescue Escaped Monkey Possibly Got Pink Eye
It was an unusual situation when a truck transporting 100 monkeys to a CDC research lab crashed on an interstate highway. While the incident gave late-night comics some material for their shows, it was a serious matter. A good Samaritan, Michele Fallon, came across the scene and did what she could to help out, but she now says she regrets her actions because she contracted conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye, from the monkeys.
