Preening Galahs Make the Most of Downpour

Amateur nature photographer David Simon captured this video from his home in Bowen Mountains, New South Wales, on June 18. The video shows two galahs preening themselves on a power cable, using the rainfall to “take a shower”, according to Simon. The galahs seem to be having difficulty gripping the cable, regularly swinging around it as they vigorously run their beaks through their feathers. Credit: David Simon via Storyful
