'Very High Risk' for Tulsa Residents Near Swollen Arkansas River

Levees on the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma, were under pressure on Sunday, May 26, after days of severe weather, leaving residents on high alert. Mayor GT Bynum said residents living nearby were at “very high risk” if they didn’t evacuate. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Arkansas River near Tulsa. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management said on May 23 that two people had been killed due to flooding and severe weather, and 83 others had been injured.
