'Where'd the road go?' Driver faces horrendous conditions in blizzard

Drivers faced horrendous conditions – including very low visibility – as a wild blizzard hit the US State of Colorado. This video shot by Nolan Ritter shows a car accident in near “white-out” conditions on a road near Parker, Colorado. The National Weather Service compared the snowstorm conditions to those of a Category 1 hurricane and said Denver International Airport saw wind gusts of up to 75 mph. Major highways and roads across the region were closed due to the poor weather conditions, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. The hurricane-force system strengthened from a run-of-the-mill weather disturbance into a historic cyclone in 24 hours, reported the Washington Post. “Its central pressure dropped 33 millibars from Tuesday to Wednesday, meeting the criteria of a meteorological ‘bomb’,” the paper reported.
