Caffeine a Mediterranean diet may help your eyes

According to a new study, eating a Mediterranean diet and consuming caffeine may lower your chances of developing age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness. The diet is high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, healthy fats and fish. Previous research has shown that a Mediterranean diet benefits the heart and lowers cancer risk. The researchers noted there has been little research, however, on whether it helps protect against eye diseases such as AMD.
