Apparently we "caught up with the Joneses"

The Wyndclyffe Castle in New York was sold this Wednesday for $120,000. Overall, the mansion has twenty four room and it was originally built in 1853. It was a country house owned by Elizabeth Schermerhorn Jones. Jones came from an extremely wealthy family she was also Edith Wharton’s, an American novelist’s aunt. According to historians, this mansion is the mansion that inspired the phrase, “Keeping up with the Joneses.”
