Multiple lightning strikes were seen shooting across the Manhattan skyline, amid a severe thunderstorm advisory issued across several regions in the north east by the National Weather Service (NWS). Video shared by Twitter user @paris24122 shows a series of lightning strikes spidering across the city skyline. The NWS said gusts of up to 40 mph were expected and urged residents to seek shelter.
