Turning Colder

Good morning! Skies are clear as the cold front continues to push off the East Coast. We can expect a mostly sunny Thursday as high pressure passes just to our north by this evening, gradually shutting off the breeze. With afternoon temperatures falling 15-20 degrees short of Wednesday's numbers, the day will feel noticeably cooler. Temps will drop into 20s and 30s tonight/into Friday morning. This will make for the coldest night in Raleigh in over a week.

Friday will be a rather seasonable day overall as southerly flow provides milder conditions ahead of the next storm. We will see clouds building overnight, holding lows in the 30s, and a late-night shower cannot be ruled out as the next system arrives.

Saturday will bring showers as the next strong cold front crosses the area but not much work was needed with this update. This should be a breezier event and with gusts well over 20 mph currently expected through the early afternoon.

Sunday will be cooler with some sun before a potentially unsettled Monday. A complicated frontal system will hang around through the end of the forecast period with questionable chances of showers, with the chance on Tuesday to deliver some rain and perhaps a touch of wind. Models still handle the following couple of days differently so we will hold our previous wording for this time period.

Enjoy your day!
