Welcome to Louisville, where the weather's made up and the seasons don't matter.

But guess what, winter is actually coming for real this time.

We've already seen a couple of long-standing temperature records fall this winter thanks to an unseasonably warm December and January.

So how about one more? We are approaching near-record warmth Wednesday. The standing record of 68 degrees was set back in 1950. The going forecast is 66 degrees. It's gonna be a close one.

This system bringing in above-average temperatures will also come with some scattered showers, so grab the rain gear.

We'll be begin to dry out late Wednesday and cool down on Thursday and Friday before Mother Nature sends us one last plot twist.

A chilly start to Friday will be followed up with a light rain/wintry mix and increasing temperatures overnight as another warm front lifts over our area.

We should start Saturday morning in the mid and upper 50s, but a cold front will quickly put an end to our last winter warm-up.

The cold sets in for the second half of the weekend and shows signs of holding on for the season. Take a look at those chilly temperatures in the seven-day forecast:
