Dozens of Buildings Damaged by Tornado in Sioux Falls

A tornado touched down in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, early on Wednesday, September 11, causing “severe” damage to dozens of homes and businesses, including a shopping mall, according to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader. Local authorities said 37 buildings had collapsed or had structural integrity issues as a result of the tornado. Aerial footage released by the City of Sioux Falls shows downed trees and power lines, widespread debris, and smashed roofs on a number of buildings, including the Plaza 41 shopping mall.
