Rain moves in for the weekend in the Mid-South, possible winter weather on the horizon

Happy Saturday

• Not a lot of change in the forecast between Friday and Saturday during the day.
• Rain and thundershowers move in Saturday evening, however, and remain overnight into Sunday.

• Strong winds will be picking up from the south as this moisture moves in.
• Severe weather is not expected at this time. 

© Provided by WHBQ Memphis Gusty winds will blow through the Mid-South Saturday night, reaching 27 mph in some areas at midnight.

• Next up, is the chance for ice.
• Timing is still iffy and accumulation will not be determined until the coming days.
• Confidence has continued to grow that we will likely see Freezing rain and/or sleet along and North of 40.
• Impacts to travel will be something to monitor since rain will likely not allow much pretreatment.
