Pastor Surveys Devastation After Tropical Cyclone Hammers Indonesia

A pastor on Landu, an island in Indonesia’s southern East Nusa Tenggara province, stepped outside on April 6 to survey some of devastation wrought by Tropical Cyclone Seroja over previous days. This footage, taken by pastor Adrianus Sidolisa, shows extensive damage to houses and buildings on the island’s coast. Officials said the peak of the cyclone struck the province on April 5, local media reported. The storm triggered flash floods, tidal waves and landslides that left at least 128 people dead. More than 8,000 residents of East Nusa Tenggara were displaced and 72 people were missing, according to the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB). The BNPB said the storm was expected to intensify over April 7 and 8 as it moves southwest, away from Indonesia. Credit: Adrianus Sidolisa via Storyful
