As we go towards the weekend, signs are pointing towards an uptick in moisture - especially late weekend into early next week.
Saturday may feature a few morning showers. Those showers will give way to partly cloudy skies by late morning into the afternoon hours before the east coast seabreeze develops. Like the past few days, this is likely to be an interior thing and not a big deal for the metro areas.
By Sunday, a cut off low to our east will push closer towards the southeast coastline. In doing so, it will not only bring more moisture ashore but also will boost the ingredients needed for more numerous showers and storms.
Some storms could be strong Sunday and Monday with a few locally strong wind gusts, frequent lightning and heavy rain capable of isolated flooding in poor drainage areas.
While widespread severe weather isn't expected, a severe storm or two cannot be ruled out.
It won't be a complete washout these days, but it will be more typical of a summer-like afternoon.
After Monday, drier air is expected to return as another bout of African dust arrives in our area.
