SoCal weather: Prepare for rain and snow this week

Get ready for some snow and rain in Southern California as the region starts to feel a bit more like winter this week.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles and Orange counties will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of some scattered showers. The temperatures will reach a high of 63 degrees and will drop to 51 degrees at night. On Thursday, however, about half an inch of rain is expected. Friday will be likely see similar conditions.

The valleys and Inland Empire will reach a high of 62 degrees with some light showers as well. Increased rain chances start to kick in on Thursday into Friday.

Beaches will be partly cloudy with a high of 60 and 2-4 foot surf.

Mountain communities will see a high of 47 degrees, dropping to 19 at night on Wednesday, but it'll feel very much like winter on Thursday into Friday with rain and snow.

Deserts will be sunny and cool amid a high of 56 degrees on Wednesday, plunging to 31 at night.
