Therapy Dog Laps Up Attention from Firefighters Battling Caldor Fire
Firefighters taking a break from battling the Caldor Fire found a few peaceful moments thanks to a first-responder therapy dog, which arrived at the base camp for operations in Placerville, California, on August 25. This footage by Heidi Carman shows first-responder therapy dog Kerith enjoying affection from several firefighters. One delighted-looking firefighter commented to Kerith that the pooch must “like the job”, based on the golden retriever’s happy facial expression. Authorities said the fire was 12 percent contained as of the early hours of August 27, with full containment expected by Wednesday, September 8. Credit: Heidi Carman via Storyful
