Yellow Vest Protesters Met With Heavy Police Presence in Paris

Protesters with the ‘gilets jaunes’ (yellow vests) movement were met with a heavy police presence during demonstrations in Paris on September 21. Le Monde reported that over 7,500 police were deployed to the capital, and batons, tear gas, and armored vehicles were used by police. This video shows police in riot gear moving down Rue Galilée, off the Champs-Élysées, as a gas canister is used to disperse the crowd. Paris’ police department said over 150 people were arrested as of 5 pm on Saturday. Credit: Emile Groult via Storyful
