
‘I feel proud’: South Koreans celebrate as Squid Game TV show makes history at 2022 Emmys
People in Seoul were jubilant as Netflix’s South Korean drama series Squid Game became the first non-English TV show to bag prime-time Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on September 12, 2022. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk and lead actor Lee Jung-jae won in the drama series category, becoming the first Asians to take home the prestigious award.
