Meghan Markle has been echoing Princess Diana’s charity work by making secret visits to comfort survivors and relatives of victims who lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower disaster.

Prince Harry’s fiancee has been hailed by those who were affected by the fire which killed 71 people as one told the Mirror: “It means so much.”

On one of her visits, Ms. Markle reportedly went to the Al Manaar community mosque, which is close to the remains of Grenfell Tower in west London, on her own and flanked only with royal security and an aide. Prince Harry and the Duke of Cambridge also visited the mosque last September to support victims of the blaze.

Her charity efforts echo those of Princess Diana, who also made secret trips to speak homeless people and visit them in shelters at night when she lived at Kensington Palace.

Abdulrahman Sayed, chief executive of the Al Manaar mosque, said there had been at least three trips from members of the royal family since Prince Harry and the Duke of Cambridge met with those affected.

The Queen is also known to have visited people at the mosque, which is a mile from the tower. It was one of the first centres in the aftermath of the tragedy in June last year to respond by providing food, water, shelter, and counselling to those in need.

Charities have previously spoken out about how Ms. Markle could be the new Princess Diana, in using her position to help those less fortunate around the world.

It comes after the couple announced further details of their wedding day on Saturday, May 19 at Windsor Castle, as Kensington Palace announced the newlyweds will undertake a tour of the town as their first trip as man and wife to greet well-wishers from all over the world who have come to see them.
