BET apologises for 'leaked' winners list

Cape Town - The BET Awards last week leaked a list of several winners on its own website, well ahead of the award show.

According the the unofficial leaked announcement, Nasty C would walk away with Best International Act: Africa award on the night.

The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 25 June in Los Angeles.

BET organisers responded to the leak saying: "An unforeseen technical issue on BET.com's BET AWARDS show page resulted in several categories revealing randomly selected nominees as winners."

"We apologize for the confusion to all of the artists affected and to our fans and we look forward to celebrating this year's winners at the BET Awards LIVE from LA on June 25th in the US and airing in the UK on Tuesday, June 27th, in Africa on Tuesday, June 27th, and in France on Wednesday, June 28th,"the statement went on say.

Our local stars will be flying the SA flag high at this year's awards with Yvonne Chaka Chaka being honoured by the BET's. Babes Wodumo and Amanda Black have all received nominations.
