Star Wars: Epic Yarns

Can you tell an epic story such as "Star Wars" in just 12 words and 12 pictures? The illustration book series "Star Wars Epic Yarns," by brothers Jack and Holman Wang, does just that. The three-board book series recreates iconic scenes from the "Star Wars" original trilogy and tells its story in an ingenious way. The episodes, namely "A New Hope," "The Empire Strikes Back," and "Return Of The Jedi," have been told in just 12 words and 12 "felt" scenes in each book. The main characters were painstakingly crafted out of wool, using the technique of needle felting. The resulting figures were plush, yet life-like and ready for action! Furthermore, elaborate sets were made and the felt characters were put in different indoor sets and outdoor locations (across the United States and Canada) for photo shoots to give the scenes a real-life charm. We take you behind the scenes of how these books were made and transport you to a galaxy far, far away—where it's more about using the fiber than the Force.
