JOHANNESBURG - Corruption Watch says McKinsey's relationship with the Gupta family needs to be investigated and exposed.

It's emerged that the international consultancy firm was warned of the risks associated with Gupta-linked company Trillian four years ago but ignored those warnings in order to secure a massive contract with Eskom.

News agency Reuters interviewed two McKinsey employees who have contradicted the company's claim that they were only made aware of the Gupta links last year.

Corruption Watch's David Lewis says this is part of the reason his organisation is pursuing charges against McKinsey in the United States.

“It just really establishes that McKinsey has been in this Gupta relationship up to their neck. And it needs to be clarified, and investigated and exposed.”
