The 'Neymar case' is beginning to get on the Barcelona president's nerves after the latest news story pointing to PSG readying an offer for the Brazilian which would meet the buy-out clause, somewhere in the region of €200 million. Josep Maria Bartomeu, in an interview with Globoesporte, was quite clear about Neymar's situation: "If someone wants to negotiate with Neymar, we will not give them permission. Neymar will stay at Barça. I've always said that Neymar has got nothing to do with all this. The only thing he ever said was: 'I want to play for Barcelona'. That was his wish. The whole business has partly blown over in recent months and I hope it ends completely soon with a definitive decision."

He took advantage of this interview to send a message to Santos, who claim they had been cheated by Barcelona over the transfer: "Santos should be happy because it was our coach who insisted we bring him over a year earlier [than had been planned] because that way Santos were able to earn some money. If Neymar had come after the World Cup, Santos wouldn't have been paid anything. Not Santos and not DIS [the group that owned 40% of the player's rights]."
