Ex-Barça player and coach Johan Cruyff said on Tuesday that the Catalan side have played "quite well" this season, and feels they "also deserve" to win Liga BBVA, as do Atlético de Madrid, the team they will face in a title shootout this Saturday at the Camp Nou.

"I never speak of who does or doesn't deserve it, but I think that Barcelona have played quite well this season and they still have the chance to win the league, and therefore they also deserve it", said the Dutchman to the press after announcing an agreement between his foundation and the Fundación Sanitas in Badalona.

He also said that Atlético "aren't thought of" as Real Madrid and Barcelona are, but they are a grand rival. "They've had great success this season and are a very competitive side".

The imminent renewal of Messi's contract was also on the agenda: "It's like papering over the cracks because all eyes were on him after the Neymar situation. But what about other players like Xavi who have also given everything to Barça? It's not Neymar's fault: he's the victim; I don't want to discredit him. His agent didn't do things properly".

Cruyff was also vocal on the fact that possible negotiations between FC Barcelona and Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique have come to light, despite the fact the title is still within the club's reach under the guide of 'Tata' Martino. "I don't like it because I think they're different things and you have to separate them".
