On Monday, the final decision on the improper alignment of Denis Cheryshev in the first leg of the Copa del Rey tie played at the Ramón de Carranza, will be announced. The news was reported by 'Iusport', after it was known that Cádiz submitted documents that were necessary to support their case just within the time allowed. According to the Diario de Cádiz, the Andalusian club aim to counter Real Madrid's arguments that the player had not been notified of his one-match suspension and, therefore, that the club cannot be accused of aligning him irregularly.

Cádiz, for their part, argue that the Federation did notify the player of his suspension at the address he himself had given on being registered (that of Villarreal). They also sustain the arguments used by both the competition and the appeals committees to ratify the line of reasoning that disqualifies Madrid from the Copa del Rey automatically. The Tribunal Administrativo del Deporte (Spain's sports arbitration court) is the last level within the ambit of sports justice that Real Madrid appeal to. The TAD's earlier decision to not grant a temporary suspension of the disqualification in order to allow the Blancos to play the second leg was interpreted by specialists as a clear sign that Madrid would be definitively eliminated from the competition, unless there is a big suprise.
