Ancelotti’s side were the first to emerge from the pot. As in the quarter finals, they will travel to Germany once again, this time to face the cup holders – Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich. The two sides have met several times before in the tournament, in the most recent, it was the German outfit who prevailed, eliminating Madrid in the 2012 semi-finals in a dramatic penalty shoot-out. The first leg will be played at the Bernabéu on April 23 with the tie decided at the AllianzArena on April 29.

Atlético’s draw against Chelsea sees Fernando Torres make his return to his former club and José Mourinho back in the Spanish capital for the first time since he left the Real Madrid post last summer. The first leg will take place on April 22 at the Calderón – a game which Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic will miss through suspension and the return leg will played at Stamforrd Bridge on April 30.
