Paris Saint-Germain have made a move in their plan to lure Cristiano Ronaldo to the French capital. The French club have reached an agreement with Jorge Mendes, the Portuguese player's agent, to ensure that they will have first refusal on 'CR7' if he decides to leave Real Madrid, according to 'Le Parisien'.

The Paris-based newspaper says Cristiano is "THE priority" for PSG who are at the beginning of a new cycle, since being knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City at the quarter-final stage has convinced the owners of the need to bring fresh players into the squad. The Parisians have hit the 'quarter-final barrier' four times in Europe's top competition and at the club they have decided that they need to undertake changes that will take them a stage further and are convinced that Cristiano is the man to take them to the next level.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has led the project since his arrival in 2012, but even with the Swede they have been unable to break through their current ceiling. As well as this, everything points to 'Ibra' leaving the capital this summer, most likely headed in the direction of the Premier League. The signs are that he will end up at Manchester United, although everything depends on who is sitting in the Old Trafford dugout next season.
