Sergio Ramos gave the members of Real Madrid's 'Grada Fans' fan club a surprise on Monday when he turned up at a meeting they were holding. The captain wanted not only to thank them for their support, game after game, but also to apologise for the team's poor showing in the first-leg game against Wolfsburg. Ramos' words were "tomorrow we're going to make up for the cock-up of the other day."

That phrase cheered up all present and they thanked the Sevilla-born player for his words and promised him, in return, that they would be totally behind the team. The Bernabéu needs to be a seething cauldron to receive the German side. Both the players and the club top brass are asking the 80.000 fans who are going to fill the stadium to cheer their team on even more than usual and to become the 12th player on the pitch. Dani Carvajal himself expressed the idea in a tweet:

Mañana seremos 12, con vuestro apoyo todo es posible!! #halamadrid pic.twitter.com/YBabLY2UhG
