Arjen Robben faced the media in Thursday’s pre-match press conference on the eve of Holland’s 2014 World Cup opener against Spain – a rematch of the 2010 final in South Africa.

“We were paired together in the draw and that’s just the way it worked out. It’s going to be special to meet Spain again as it’s a repeat of the final in South Africa. My miss against Casillas is all in the past now, although it’s something which will stay with me for the rest of my life. We’re looking forward, not back. I am someone who doesn’t believe in revenge. Our meeting four years was a final, this is a group stage match so you can’t compare the two,” Robben told reporters.

“Our pre-tournament preparations have been fantastic and we have improved certain aspects to our game. We’re all very excited and happy to be here,” the winger continued, adding that “the usual suspects” are the favourites to go on to win the trophy. “Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Germany are my favourites. Spain top the ranking and Holland are 15th, so we’ll need to be compact as a team and efficient in front of goal on Friday night,” he ended.
