Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane appeared before the media to look at the fixture his team have on Saturday, against Atlético de Madrid in the local derby, at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Injuries: "Marcelo has a muscle strain in the calf and we have to be careful with him. He won't be on the list for tomorrow. Bale is still working apart from the rest of the group but Pepe did train with us."

The game: "What concerns me is playing a good game tomorrow. We've worked well during the week, and we're ready to put in a good performance. We have to give our best. It'll be difficult, without any doubt."

The fans: "The only thing I ask of the fans is for them to be as up for this as the players will be, to get right behind us as they always do."

The players: "It's important for the fans but more so for the players. They are professionals and they know that at times things don't work out for them. Here, we go from one extreme to the other. You can't play well for 90 minutes while your opponents play badly for 90."

Danilo: "He's in good shape, and is working hard. Other players have been playing more recently but he's raring to go. He's an important player for us and I am happy with what he is doing. After that, I have to take a decision as to who plays tomorrow. He is going to start. This is a big squad and I have to take decisions."

Benzema: "He is an important player for our team. The good thing is that he is not feeling any more twinges. More important than the goals he scores for us is the work he puts in with his team-mates."

Mistakes made in the Málaga game: "We know that Atlético defend well, but that's not the only thing they do well and we know how difficult it will be for us. We've looked over the mistakes we made against Málaga. Every game has its problems. We are well prepared for the game and we should only be thinking of ourselves and what we do."

Criticism of Isco: "I'm very happy with the work he's doing. If you look at his final pass, it's clear that it's an area he needs to improve in. He knows that himself. Otherwise, I'm happy with his defensive work."

Is La Liga over?: "Whatever happens, we're not going to throw in the towel until the end. There are points to play for. I'm being straight with you here. Dropping points will make things tougher. But our season doesn't end tomorrow."

The derby as a test: "There are people who doubt me as a coach. That's normal. I have it quite clear what I want and I have to focus on what I want to do. We are up against a great coach, one who I admired as a player and now as a coach. Otherwise, people can think what they want."

What shape will the team have against Atlético?: "We are going to play in a way that is faithful to our idea, that is clear. We are going to play like we always do. And in midfield we have muscle, skill, strength, we have it all."

Borja Mayoral: "Borja is called up. He has been looking good recently and is ready to to be with us."

James Rodríguez: "All the players have been working flat out in training. I have to take decisions. What matters is the attitude and in that regard, I am very proud of all of my players and happy with the attitude they are showing, both the ones who are playing regularly and those who aren't."
