Marco de Vincenzo - Women's Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Milan (with interview)

Designer: Marco de Vincenzo Inspiration: Colours of the rainbow for an inclusive fashion for all, and a fashion show that parades in the heart of Milan along the Navigli banks. Collection: Material effects with ripples which give an originality to the clothes. For the first time the designer focuses his work on silhouettes in monochrome colours. The colours go from black to blue, then into more bright and sunny tones. The knitting undulates on the body and is decorated with patterns of waves and ruche. Lightness is essential as the skirts and shirts play with transparency. An ultra-feminine and glamourous wardrobe, with gold-tone outfits, “plissé soleil” dresses, frill or fringe dresses, and bra tops that enhance the body. To note: The crochet knit shoes with curved heels. Interview : Marco de Vincenzo : The starting point was colour, as usual, but in a different way. I thought about a human rainbow, so 47 girls, every girl as a different colour and just to express the meaning of diversity and of difference, it's a light way to talk about humanity, but it's my way. Different possibilities, different fabrics, fluid, not fluid, maybe more minimal than usual because the colour gives the purity. This is my first monochrome collection because the colours are not mixed together but it was very surprising because for the first time I said ok, and now that I have to think about a white tailleur, what I can do to be Marco De Vincenzo, it was very very interesting working on this collection. There's a lot of workmanship, every piece is very creative, there's a lot of pleating, that is one of my obsessions, there's something that comes from modernity, from new industry and something, for example pleating, that comes from the past, but used in a modern way. I think that fashion is the combination of past and future and I gave my best to this collection to express this importance. Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
