Fila - Women's and Men's Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Milan (with interview)

Artistic Directors: Antonino Ingrasciotta and Joseph Graesel Inspiration: The world of sailing and creative thinking around the sailing jacket worn by the Italian sailor Giovanni Soldini in 1999 during his solo crossing of the Atlantic. A functional jacket with many pockets and technical details. Collection: The silhouettes refer to water, wind, sea… to the world of sailing and surfing. The lines are soft, feminine and with measured sensuality. Prints of wave drawings that decorate t-shirts and mini dresses or parachute canvas jackets. The signature Fila symbol, created in 1973, decorates shorts and jackets all over. It becomes a decorative and graphic element on sweatshirts and sports jackets. Focus: Technical materials such as neoprene, silk chiffon or jersey. To note: The many accessories that accompany the silhouettes (weekend bags, duffel bags, heeled sandals, sunhats…) Interview : Antonino Ingrasciotta : This is the Giovanni Soldini jacket, it was like the starting point of the inspiration because if you see here in detail, he's like the most famous skipper in the world. He is Italian so he was wearing Fila in reality. It was functional, for protection. This is what is important for me, that we create a break between this real functionality and femininity because the inspiration is about nautical femininity and functionality that we're melting together. Joseph Graesel : We like to work with the 3D mesh which is very technical so you can reach a beautiful at leisure look. Also, we work with metallic nylons for outdoors and windbreakers and we have different kind of materials like cotton twill and different sport elements to build a design on it.
