MSGM - Women's Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Milan (with interview)

Artistic Director: Massimo Giorgetti Inspiration: The designer celebrates the 10th anniversary of his label and revisits its DNA. Collection: A wardrobe with colour and prints for a bright and warm summer. Faded flowers on denim, lace trouser suits, or taffeta blouses with bows, all make up this joyful and elegant wardrobe. The American artist Todd Bienvenu takes part in this collection by decorating his figurative paintings reminiscent of beach scenes, accessories and clothing. The colour palette is vitaminized, treated in colour blocks and a touch of colour is found on the eyes of the models. To note: The colourful checked knit and fringed tweed dresses with crochet necks and belts, and the gathered effect on the sleeves of jackets and tops. Interview : Massimo Giorgetti : It's a special collection, I'm very happy, of course I'm excited and it's the first collection that there is no inspiration because the only inspiration of this collection is MSGM. I started MSGM 10 years ago, and there is all the part of their DNA, part of the brand, also the iconic stories like tweed, fringe, bows, “volants”, colour, acid prints. There is a color block, there is all my favourite colours because there are yellows, I think it is like a stamp of MSGM but in a centre way, a little bit different from the past because it's a kind of stamp of MSGM without nostalgia, without ever looking back, it's a rule for me, it's really a rule. I also started the first collection of MSGM in 2009/2010 before the tsunami of street wear and I have to say that I keep some pieces from the archives and I move and I translate them in 2020.
