CLEVELAND, Ohio – Who says you have to ring in the new year with Champagne? Great Lakes Brewing Co. is offering Brew Year’s Eve.

A four-course beer dinner is scheduled for 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31. Doors to the public will open at 9 p.m.

Menu

Welcome: Pint of beer.

First: Roasted beet and pecan frisée salad - pickled shallot, radicchio, salt-cured yolk, Champagne vinaigrette espuma, beer-batch French onion soup, barrel-aged beer and sherry topped with Gruyére. Beer: Edmund Fitzgerald Porter.

Second: Pumpkin and three-mushroom ravioli - Ohio City Pasta dough, pumpkin and ricotta filling, local mushroom medley, basil, garlic, beurre blanc, Parmesan tuile. Beer: Crushworthy Lo-Cal Citrus Wheat.

Third: Duck leg in fall roots - sous vide duck confit, cranberry and pomegranate reduction, caramelized pine nut and apple, winter root vegetables. Beer: Eliot Ness Amber Lager.

Fourth: Crème Brûlée with chocolate ganache. Beer: Barrel Aged Christmas Ale.

A midnight toast with a beer brewed for New Year’s Eve will be offered.

Cost is $85. Advance tickets are required; go to eventbrite. Vaccination proof or negative Covid test administered within 72 hours is required.

At 9 p.m., doors open to the public. No cover charge. The brewery will have DJ and photo booth in the beer garden, beer-infusion bar in the beer cellar and the New Year’s toast.
