David Letterman Wins Mark Twain Prize For American Humor

David Letterman won the Mark Twain Award for American Humor for all of the years he spent as a Late Night Show Host. Fellow comedians Jimmy Kimmel and Bill Murray spoke in his honor. Kimmel jokingly stated, “It’s like you went out for cigarettes one day and left us in the hands of our abusive, orange stepfather.” Kimmel was referring to President Donald Trump, who was elected after Letterman retired from late night television. Letterman’s ceremony was harmonious and joyous. Everyone had a good time reflecting on his career and accomplishments.
