Britney Spears' conservative remains unchanged, a court has heard.

Earlier this week during a hearing, the singer's legal team had requested to remove her father, Jamie Spears, as sole conservator of her business affairs — a role he has held since 2008.

But according to TMZ, specific legal documents pertaining to the case have yet to be filed, meaning the court hearing on August 19 was just a scheduled conference to check on Britney's status. Therefore, there have been no alterations made to the conservatorship.

The outlet reports that there are still concerns for Britney's mental health and she may struggle with making her own life decisions if freed from the court-appointed order.

Her dad Jamie was given the power to control her finances and major life and career choices in 2008, after the singer had a public meltdown.

Jamie stood down as conservator last year due to illness, with her care manager, Jodi Montgomery, stepping into the role temporarily.

But as the 12-year conservatorship nears its August 22 end date, Britney's legal team argues that the singer should regain control of her life.

Last month, Britney's big brother, Bryan Spears, hinted that she has become 'frustrated" with the court-appointed order during an interview on the As Not Seen on TV podcast.

"She's always wanted to get out of it," Bryan said on the July 23 podcast. "It's very frustrating to have. Whether someone's coming in peace to help or coming in with an attitude, having someone constantly tell you to do something has got to be frustrating.

"[But] she's been surrounded by people since she was 15, so at what level does everyone just walk away or get reduced? I know what she wants, but… at the end of the day, what is the reality of that? The practicality. So are you going to call and make reservations for yourself today? Let's say [the conservatorship] does get let go, and she's going around, everyday task stuff, I think it's probably going to be… it's a great challenge."

Still, Britney's many supporters think it's time she was freed from her conservatorship, sparking the #FreeBritney movement. Fans have flooded social media with pleas for her freedom, and 'Free Britney' protests have been staged in LA in recent weeks.

Even Britney's ex-husband and childhood friend, Jason Alexander, was spotted at the August 18 rally outside the Los Angeles courthouse.

The pair were married for just 55 hours back in 2004 before their union was annulled, but they appear to have remained friends.

Jason has even spoken out publicly regarding Britney's conservatorship, telling Isaac Weishaupt on the Conspiracy Theories & Unpopular Culture podcast last month that he supports his ex.

"When I was with Britney in 2004, she was already telling me stuff, even before there was a conservatorship. She was not in control of producing her album or writing her music, or anything. She wasn't really happy then," Jason said.

"They've used that control over her. I don't think she's really known how to fight against it. Yes, she does support the #FreeBritney movement. I do know that for a fact. She's really been a prisoner. She's been playing along with the script, but kind of waiting it out."
