A man has been charged with the stabbing murder of his uncle, Brisbane restaurateur Abdul Basith Mohammed, outside his home in 2017.

The 35-year-old father-of-four was stabbed to death in St George Street in Kuraby just after midnight on October 25 after someone turned off the power to his family home.

His wife and children were home at the time.

CCTV footage released by Queensland police during their investigation shows a man in a hooded jumper walking along St George Street and Beenleigh Road.

He is seen running in the opposite direction a short time later.

Last year a secondary crime scene was established at an address on Didcot Street in Kuraby with forensic officers carrying out a thorough examination of the dwelling and surrounds.
