Police investigate SA bushfire as arson

South Australia police are treating a bushfire near Kangaroo Island as suspicious, claiming it might have been deliberately lit.

The fire at Second Valley was first reported after 1pm on Tuesday and has burnt more than 28 hectares.

© AAP Images A watch and act warning was in place on Tuesday as the fire was initially uncontrolled and travelling in a northerly direction.

The fire is still going but was controlled by fire crews, posing a minimal threat to the community.
