A teenager has been charged after a grandmother was brutally bashed in a suburban Perth street.

The 52-year-old was held down and stomped on for more than 90 seconds near her home in Byford, in the city’s south-east.

Detectives today charged a 14-year-old boy. He's accused of hitting and kicking the victim, and other family members were also allegedly involved.

The violent attack left grandmother Kim Dawson with terrible injuries, she suffered two black eyes and horrific bruising all over her body in the ordeal.

“I thought they were going to kill me actually because each time they jumped on my head I could feel blood running down my face,” Mrs Dawson said.

9NEWS revealed exclusive footage of the bashing last night.

Pia Little has lived in the suburb of Byford for nine years, she claims the same family has threatened and abused other residents.

She’s now calling for extra police and security patrols.

“It would make everyone feel a bit safer to know there is more people here,” she told 9NEWS.

Kim Dawson says she’s happy and relieved the 14-year-old boy has been charged but admits she’s still anxious living in her home, three days after the alleged attack.

The accused boy faced court this morning and will appear again later this month.
